College Football Picks: 2014 ACC Football Predictions

The ACC isn t the best conference in college football predictions, but as the 2014 season gets underway, the ACC is home to the defending national champions, the Florida State Seminoles. Led by Heisman winner Jameis Winston and coach Jimbo Fiscer, the Noles are locked and loaded, and ready to make a run towards a repeat championship during the year s inaugural run with a playoff format. Here s a look at what to expect from the entire ACC football this season. ACC Football Preseason Rankings Florida State enters the year as the number 1 ranked team in the country. After that though, it s pretty slim pickings for the ACC. Clemson is ranked at number 16 to start the season, and North Carolina is at 23. Duke, Virginia Tech and Miami are on the outside looking in, in the fringe 25-35 range, and could move upwards as the season progresses if they win some games. Auburn College Football Predictions

The Auburn Tigers are coming off a fantastic season. It was filled with memorable moments, big wins, an SEC Championship, and a trip to the national championship game. So how will Auburn follow that up here in 2014, in the always tough SEC? Here s a look at what to expect. Auburn Football Last Season in Review Auburn was not particularly highly rated at the beginning of the year. In fact, they didn t even crack the top 25 until the middle of October. From there, they took out number 7 Texas A&M and Johnny Manziel on the road, defeated Georgia, and of course, upset Alabama with that epic final play, returning a missed field goal for a touchdown. That stamped their ticket to the SEC title game, where they defeated Missouri in a wild offensive game. They came up just short in the title game against number 1 Florida State, but acquitted themselves well in the process. 2014 Auburn Football Season Schedule Overview An SEC schedule is never easy to navigate, particularly with the way the SEC

Missouri Football Predictions

Missouri is coming off an excellent season. However, they lost a great deal of talent after the year to the draft, and now find themselves in somewhat of an underrated position yet again. Will the Tigers be able to replicate the success they had last year, even with a cast of fresh faces? Here s a look at what to expect from Mizzou in 2014. Missouri Football 2013 Season in Review Missouri finished with a great 12-2 record last season, ranked as the number 9 team in the nation. They won their first seven games, including a road win over then number 7 Georgia. They lost to South Carolina, but then were able to defeat Ole Miss and Texas A&M in back to back weeks, earning them the SEC East title. They then met number 3 Auburn in the SEC title game, and lost that crazy 59-42 scoring fest. They finished the year by defeating Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl. Missouri Football 2014 Season Schedule Overview Missouri opens the year lightly, and then meets UCF in their 3rd game. Their toughest

College Football Picks: 2014 SEC Football Predictions

The SEC is stacked as always as we head into the 2014 college football season. And the conference as a whole is hungry. That s because their six-year championship streak has come to an end. The conference wants to bring that championship trophy back down south, they want to win the inaugural college football playoff, and oh yea, they likely want to send two schools to that 4-team playoff as well. What can we expect to see in the SEC this season? Here s a look and a roundup of the 2014 SEC betting odds, predictions and previews. SEC Preseason Football Rankings There are a total of 8 SEC schools in the preseason AP rankings, a crazy total. That includes number 2 Alabama, number 6 Auburn, number 9 South Carolina, numbers 12 and 13, Georgia and LSU respectively, Ole Miss at number 18, Texas A&M at number 21, and finally, Missouri at number 24. That doesn t include a few of the teams which are regarded as being right on the bubble, such as Florida and Mississippi State. SEC Talent Turnover

South Carolina Football Predictions

South Carolina continues to flirt with the national championship picture but just can t get themselves quite the far. So is 2014 the year? The always confident Steve Spurrier certainly isn t shying away from the challenge. Here s a preview of what to expect from South Carolina this season. Last Season in Review The Gamecocks finished 2013 with an 11-2 record, including a Capital One bowl game win over Wisconsin. They started the year ranked number 6, but then lost on the road to number 11 Georgia in week 2. They later disappointingly dropped a road game at Tennessee, but then were able to defeat Missouri and Clemson, and then Wisconsin in the bowl game, to finish number 8 on the season. 2014 Season Schedule Overview South Carolina has a tough road ahead of them this season, with three games against preseason top 10 teams on the schedule, and two more against top 25 teams, and that doesn t even include Georgia. They open the year against Texas A&M, host Georgia in September, and then h

Florida Gators College Football Predictions

Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. That s what the Florida Gators are hoping for as they look ahead to a 2014 season after an absolutely miserable 2013 campaign. The team seems to be a world away from the Urban Meyer days and two titles in three seasons. Will Muschamp is still the head man in charge, but he ll have to turn this team around today if the plans to keep that position. Florida Gators Last Season in Review The Gators began the year with a preseason #10 ranking, and hopes of taking that next step up in class to return to championship contender status. Despite a loss to Miami in their second game, they seemed more or less on track, with a 4-1 record entering October. That s when things bottomed out. They would lose their final seven games, finishing with a 4-8 record which didn t even leave them bowl eligible. Granted, they faced a brutal stretch of teams, with four teams in the top 14 in that run, losing to LSU, Missouri, South Carolina and Florida St

Alabama Crimson Tide College Football Predictions

For most schools in the country, an 11-2 season which ended in a top 10 ranking is a mark of a great and successful year. Of course, most schools aren t Alabama, and the way the season ended with gasp back to back defeats was a travesty. Back to back losses is a far cry from back to back national championships, after all. So will Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide get back into championship contention this year? Last College Football Season in Review The season began as usual for Alabama. They won their first 11 contests, including wins over #6 Texas A&M, #10 LSU and #21 Ole Miss. Entering the year as a two-time defending champion and the #1 team in the country, they remained ranked #1 all the way until the annual Iron Bowl game, when they met rival #4 Auburn. We all remember the epic ending to that game, with Auburn running back a missed Alabama field goal, which would have won the game, for their own winning touchdown as time expired. It was a crushing blow, and that s just how close t

2014 College Football Conference Predictions

After a long summer of waiting, it s time for the 2014 college football season to kick off. There s plenty to look forward to this season, including, most notably, the beginning of a new era, and a four team playoff bracket to determine the national championship. Here s a conference by conference breakdown of what you can expect during the year. 2014 SEC Football Odds & Predictions After 7 straight championships came from the SEC, the streak was finally broken last year, with Auburn losing to Florida State in the national title game. This year, the SEC is stacked per usual with 7 teams in the preseason top 25 polls, including #2 Alabama, #5 Auburn and #9 South Carolina. With so much predicted quality though, the teams usually end up beating on one another, leaving only the top one or two survivors to be in the national championship picture. Alabama certainly leads the pack for a reason, even though they last several top-tier defensive starters and AJ McCarron at quarterback. Nick Saba
